When you publish your book on Amazon there’s an excellent chance others will get your book before you even see a copy.
Author’s copies are ordered differently and it takes ten days before they ship. As in a long, long time.
I ordered copies for all the people who contributed to the book, well, those who sent their snail mail address, and I ordered books for my first signing. Then I went and spent money to buy my book because I wanted to see it. Makes sense, right?
People have ordered! And a few even let me know they got their copy. What did I get? A notice from Amazon letting me know that my package was late being delivered and it might come on Monday. Or maybe Tuesday. I know how the book ends so I guess waiting isn’t the worst thing in the world.
My friend came to dinner last night to celebrate. I made delicious ribeye because if ever an occasion needed steak it was THE BOOK. Yes, all caps. She brought champagne. We did not drink the champagne because there was nothing to toast given that the book didn’t arrive.
Today is my sister’s birthday. So we’re going to toast Patricia and I Chose You, Imperfectly Perfect Rescue Dogs and Their Humans.
